Why we like it?
This famed bean is grown on an iconic coffee farm located near the city of Gesha, the origin of this internationally renowned varietal.

Owned by Adam Overton, Rachel Samuels and Willem Boot, this nearly 500-hectare estate has made a global name for itself year after year by bringing impressive coffees to market.

The combination of very fertile volcanic soil, altitude, two humid seasons with high rainfall and low night temperatures provide the ideal climate to harvest a slowly ripened cherry, with intense fruit flavor and great complexity/acidity that we hope you will enjoy with great pleasure.

Intense flavor and delicate notes of white chocolate with wild fruits: raspberry, strawberry and blueberry.

Gesha Village is one of the most beloved coffee producers in the planet with 471 hectares in the Bench Maji area of Ethiopia, near Gesha town and Gori forest, the place birth of Gesha variety.

Owned and operated by Adam Overton, Rachel Samuel and Willem Boot, this project was started in 2007 and has quickly became and idolized producer in the world of coffee speciality. With 320 hectares planted with varieties Gesha 1931, Gori Gesha and Illubabor Forest, in 8 different areas that correlate with unique terroir.

A mixed system of agroforestry practices is used, in its mostly natural forests that provide shade and introduce coffee to a diverse fauna and flora, which provide a system symbiotic of organisms. The soil is reddish brown clay and of virgin forest.

This batch is processed in a traditional natural style, without use of intentional fermentation step. The coffee dries for 28 days in raised beds in the sun.
